In 1980, ​Chih and Mei Sun opened Tsing Tao - a Mandarin Chinese restaurant in Wilmette. They were also the first business owners to receive a liquor license along the north shore.

 

Fast-forward 45 years and the Sun family is moving on - having sold the business to another north shore family who will continue running Tsing Tao by continuing the tradition of serving fresh and unique flavors that the restaurant has offered. ​Richard Sun (of his parent's restaurant) states, “We've made so many friends through the years. Being a part of the community...is the best thing (to come) out of it.”
